Event-Poetry Reading

I recectly attended a poetry reading of "Eros Operatica" by Dr. Joanne Ford. "Eros Operatica" is a collection of poems that Dr. Ford has written and they will be published later this year. I found that some of the poems had a dark tone to them while others seemed somewhat bright. The poetry reading was for mature audiences. This poetry reading took place at the Bossard Memorial Library in Gallipolis Ohio. While searching on the internet I found some of the works that Dr. Ford will be including in her collection. Here are two of the poems she will be featuring her in her book.

Snow Light
Through lace curtains
leap lean wolves
of winter light.
What isn't shredded
is tipped
silver-black & white.
The whole house
howls
shivers.
Then corpse
bleeds into
couch.
Remaining eye - dilated
rolled up
and to the right.

Fireflies
They light up
the length of a heart beat
and in winter are replaced
by snowflakes that take
about as much space
and melt as quickly.
Why do things
which will not last in Time
leave such persistent traces
in the mind?

I encourage anyone with a interest in poetry to pick up this book when it is published.
